There are over 6,000 speed cameras throughout the UK, and this figure is set to triple; and around 125,000 people across the UK are close to losing their licences which will in turn cause them to loose their job because of it. Have you ever thought about how your business would suffer if you were banned from driving?
The latest legislation, which will come into force on 27th February 2007, is the increase in fines from £30 to £60 and 3 penalty points on your licence if you are caught using your mobile phone. If you are an employer you can also be prosecuted if you require employees to make or receive calls whilst driving.
Previously, a driver could plead ‘exceptional hardship’ hoping that a fine would be issued instead of the ban. However please be aware that under new guidance from the Magistrates’ Association, it will now be much harder to avoid a driving ban, even if it would cause substantial problems for you, your family and your business.
